Important Information: Before Your Medical Examination

Before attending your medical examination :

Before attending your CASA medical examination, you must log into the CASA Portal and complete your medical history.

This step must be completed in advance to proceed with your medical assessment. Once submitted, you will receive guidance from CASA on the specific tests required for your medical certificate.

Preparing for Your Medical Examination

It is your responsibility to complete the necessary tests to ensure your medical examination and application can be processed in a single session.

Depending on your licence class, there will be additional testing, such as:

  • ECG: Done on site.
  • Audiometry: Done on site.
  • Fasting Glucose & Fasting Lipids: Request forms are sent out in advance once the appointment is booked.

Periodicity of Medical Tests

  • ECG (Electrocardiogram):

    Required at the first renewal after ages 25, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, and 40. After age 40, an ECG is required annually.

  • Audiogram (Hearing Test):

    Required at the first renewal after age 25, then every five years.

  • Fasting Lipids & Glucose:

    Required at the first renewal after age 25, then every five years until age 60. After age 60, these tests are required annually.

  • Eye Examination:

    Conducted by a CASA Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist or Credentialed Optometrist. Required at age 60, then every two years.

Important Items to Bring to Your Medical Exam

You must bring the following items to your appointment:

  • ✅ Your current medical certificate.
  • ✅ Any glasses or contact lenses you normally wear (for distance or reading).
  • ✅ Backup glasses, if required to be carried in the cockpit as per your medical certificate.
  • ✅ Any medical treatment reports since your last CASA medical certificate.
